Fight Night Rules

4v4 Fight Nights
Rules 1.4 (151008) - Download RTF | Download PDF

This is a 4 vs 4 best of 7 fights. This means you must win 4 out of 7 to be victorious.  The match ends when a team wins 4 fights.  A tie will result in no score.  If a team has not acquired 4 wins after the 7th drop, tie breaker drops will be played until there is a clear winner.  Rules are loosely based off of the MPBT: Solaris Fight Nights and Solaris Simulation Wars.  The rules will be updated for improvements or to address any new issues.

When: Every Friday - 9pm Eastern
Where (Event Teamspeak): ts1.housesteiner.com

Game Mode: Skirmish 4 vs 4
Map: Random
Full Teams:  No
Match Time: 10 minutes
View Mode: First Person Only
Air & Artillery Strikes: Yes
Mech Rules: Inner Sphere mechs only.  No duplicate mech chassis per drop.
A single variant of a mech chassis may be used for each drop.  The mech variant may be used again in subsequent drops.  A drop consists of four different mech chassis mechs.

The format will be the following:
A: One Light Drop (lights only).
B: One Medium Drop (mediums only).
C: One Heavy Drop (heavies only).
D: One Assault Drop (assaults only).
E: Three True Lance Drops (One Mech from each class).

Tie Breakers: True Lance Drops (One Mech from each class).

All matches will be fought in the order listed. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS! (Dropping out of order will result in the loss of that drop.)

Lobby Drop Procedure:  The Lance Leader on both teams must say “Lance Ready” before the lobby manager may launch the drop fight.  Teams should not take more than 12 minutes between drops to announce they are “Lance Ready”.  Dropping a four-person lance is nice but not required.  A lance can run any number of people less than or equal to 4 but never any more than four people.

Booting:  A disconnection from the server that causes a MechWarrior to not arrive in combat or fail to finish the combat. No redo due to boots.  If a player disconnects, the match will continue.  A disconnected player may reconnect during battle.  If the server honestly craps out with multiple disconnections and the players are not able to reconnect, the drop should be nullified (no score) and the next drop format selected.

Problems & Disputes:  The Matchmaker is also the event referee and may be called upon to resolve any problems or conflicts.  If a team breaks a rule they may be issued a warning if they made a mistake and are cooperative.  If a team is determined to act in bad faith or detrimental to the event, they may be issued a Yellow Card.  A second Yellow Card may result in removal from all Fight Night and Mech Fights activities.

Sportsmanship:  All teams are expected to demonstrate fair, mature, and appropriate behavior.  Teams must respect themselves, opponents, and the referee.  The goal of Fight Night is to cooperate with other teams, complete matches, and have fun.

I.  Registration & Match Procedures:

Lance and unit leaders are asked to register on the Fight Night Forum.
Fight Night Forum: http://sll.prophpbb.com

Lance Leaders report to the Matchmaker on Friday 9pm Eastern at Steiner Stadium.

If you are a new team, please request a Lance # assignment.  If you already have a permanent Lance #, please provide that to the Matchmaker.  If you want a permanent Lance # for your team, request a number between 100-999.  Save and remember the assigned Lance # for future events.

Lance Leaders need to insert LL# tag in front of their name.  Lance members wear L# tags.  If the Lance Leader changes, the new LL will need to change their lance tag to indicate they are the current LL.

Lance Example:
LL1 Victor [10LG]
L1 Kai [10LG]
L1 Guy [10LG]
L1 Sai [10LG]

Staging Rooms:
Teams ready to fight should set up their lances and standby in the Staging Rooms for new match assignments.  Losing teams should report back to the Staging Rooms, while winning teams remain in the arena room they have won.

Match Assignments:
The Matchmaker will pair you up for a fight depending on the availability of teams.
You will receive instructions L# vs L# in Steiner Stadium 5 (Arena 5).
Report to your assigned match location and greet your opponents.
Lance Leaders may initiate their own match fights if the Matchmaker is unavailable.

Create a Private Match Lobby:
- Room Owner (winning team) creates the lobby with the event settings.
- New or Neutral Room - The team with the most overall points creates the lobby.  When teams are tied, check match win% then drop win%.  If both teams are new or tied in all their ranking statistics, the team with the lower Lance # creates the lobby.

Create Lance Channels:
Each Lance Leader creates a temporary channel “Lance #” for their team.
The Lance Leader will be given Teamspeak permissions to create a temporary channel.

II.  Match Score Reporting:

Please report your match scores with the Match Report Form.  All match reports should be completed by 12pm the next day.  This form is for reporting the results of one whole match and not each drop.

Drop Summary Screenshot records are required for each Lance.  Posting them is optional.  Screenshots may be requested by the league administrator to resolve any match report discrepancies.
